We met in 2012 over a game of backgammon. 🎲
At Andreea’s first volunteer event in university, we ended up face-to-face, with a backgammon board between us.
George brought the skill and passion, while Andreea brought… luck. Not long after, George stood up from the table, frustrated, thinking how he never wanted to see again the girl who had just beaten him at backgammon.
Twelve years later, that girl is becoming his wife - and she’s still winning at backgammon. :)
What brought us together
Soon, we discovered that we share a passion for mountains and traveling. Our first mountain trip was to Ceahlău. That was the first time we saw the most star-filled sky.
Even from a distance
After George moved to Dublin, we took every opportunity to travel together. We ventured through the Cerna Valley, to the Azores islands, and little by little, our friendship became something special.
By motorcycle through Africa
George left Dublin with a one-way ticket to South Africa. There, his motorcycle awaited him, ready to take him back to Europe through the entire African continent, along the west coast.
Andreea was by his side throughout the journey, even though she remained in Romania. With just a message or a thought away, Andreea supported him through the toughest moments of the trip.
So, when he reached Spain, George didn’t continue on to Dublin; instead, he took a right turn towards Romania.
Officially together
The official address of our relationship was in a small apartment in Bucharest. Our souls were always traveling.

we collected experiences and memories together, but more importantly, we cherished each other.

The next step
A different kind of experience we were curious of exploring together was living in a different country.
Switzerland hosted both our careers and our hearts. So, in 2021, we moved to Zurich, closer to the mountains and more eager for new travels and experiences.
The engagement
One of our first experiences together was watching the Perseid meteor shower. We spent that night in the middle of a desolate field, counting "falling stars" and making wishes.
A few years later, near a mountain farm, we found ourselves watching again the same spectacle. Just the two of us and a ring.
Next to you
We've been through so much together since we first met, over a game of backgammon. Although we have an entire album of experiences, we couldn’t bring these moments to life without the people who have been by our side.
We are incredibly lucky and absolutely grateful for all the loved ones in our lives.
Our story is still being written and we cannot continue one of its most important chapters without you.
